The VIPER is a great car. Reminds me of a Corvette mixed with Ferarri and an Aston Martin.

Oh this must be the kneejerk edition Viper. When it first came out it didn't beat the ZR1, so Dodge went scrambling to do something about it and had to come out with this one.

And yet it still just barely beats the OUTGOING corvette ZR1. Color me not impressed. Dodge dropped the ball with the new Viper.

Ford hasn't been the primary owner of AM since 2007.

I did find it funny that the CEO of SRT had to tweet about the driver and motor trend. As well as chevy "cheating" by using better track tires. Who's fault is that SRT? Put better tires on your only super car, no ones buys a viper to drive it in the rain.

Also good call on the ford and Aston Martin thing. Ford sold a majority of Aston in 2007, as well as a lot of their stock in Jaguar to avoid bankruptcy.

I like the Vipers, but as 5.0 said, they're competing with the passing generation, and barely doing a job at that.

And also... DAMN are those some wide tires.

Chevy will roll something out in a couple years that beats this. And yes, reading Motor Trend on the flight home last week I did find it amusing that Ralph Gilles cried about the ZR1, etc. I'd still own a GTS Viper in a second.

The viper is a BA car, and .08 of a second around a track isn't really a deal breaker for zr1 owners. The numbers are so close it still comes down to personal preference.

Hopefully people really do not believe that. Pobst is a pretty well known driver and if average joes think they can be as fast as him then my question is....... how did they come up with enough money to buy a viper or zr1 with the brain power of a turnip?
