Sudden Impact: 1969 GTO Judge Loses Fight With PoleBy Brian Lohnes Posted 08/26/09
Wow. This is rough stuff. The car that is trying to eat that pole is a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge. We're thinking that the driver did not walk away unscathed from this one. BangShift.com member Newbomb Turk posted up these photos and said that details were still sketchy on the situation. Here are some facts: They aren't building 1969 Judges anymore and this sucks.
There does not appear to be any sign of skidmarks so it appears this car met the pole while under power. It sure as hell looks that way.
*Update*
The wreck happened by the Minnesota State Fair Grounds last Saturday. The driver was awake but out of it when medical help arrived. According to people close to the situation the driver had "open fractures to his legs and a pretty bad head laceration." Compound fractures are hideous to think about.

I'd venture to say closer to 50 or 60. I've been in a 50mph crash in an A body (69 SS 396 Chevelle - yes, I was driving and NO it wasn't my fault) and it totalled the car (somewhat like shown). I broadsided a stakebed Chevy truck and pushed it through 4 lanes. Fortunately it was late at night (which explains [sorta] why the driver was drunk and ran the red light) and (although it looked like somebody should have died) there were no serious injuries. This was back in 1978 so it was just a used car.
Regardless, it's a shame to see an antique like this destroyed. Like stated, "they ain't makin anymore of 'em".

Fuuuuuuccck.
Brings back bad memories of my '67 GTO that my wife totalled for me in Dec. 1998. She hit a car that was on the far left lane that was stopped bc a pickup was stopped to help a car that had just spun out and slammed the inner wall. My car looked almost as bad as this Judge.
