The "r" and "i", and the "n" and "t" are too close together. You oughtta go back up there and make it right. lol

I hope you aren't serious that it took you 5 work weeks to edit a video of a sign job that likely took only a day, or two at the very most, to install...

the field work only took about 3 days per side.
1 day to remove, 1 day to prep/drill, 1 day to install.

i had THOUSANDS of photos and HUNDREDS of hours of video to sift through, edit, compile etc... wish it didnt take as long as it did,,,

the 200 hours was spread out over a few months...
i also had some formatting/media issues to jump over...

good thing was working for free.

It took you 200 hours of editing and it only took them 7 minutes to install all the signs? Somebody is slacking.

    The video was well made...

I can see that the sign company used the window washing platform to execute the job.. I would love to know how the giant letters were mounted to the side of the building? What do you drill into to get the solid support, and what kind of holding bolts do you use for that type of work?

Also, why didn't you paint over the old faded paint numbers before putting up the new? In daylight you should be able to see that imperfection, no?..

I'm a general contractor by trade and am not nit picking just curious about this type of work?

Yeah, from 415 feet away looking up at it into the sunlight, the bits that stick out past the old letters are going to be SO obvious.

btw...considering everyone looking at it is on the ground. Why don't you tip the letters forward or at least make them so at a parallax view they appear normal.

Each letter was mounted using apposed steel picking clips, mated with 1/2" bolts. The clips on the walls are also mounted using 1/2 bolts.

The old sign ghost was painted over AFTER our sign was up... i know, it sounds odd, but we only had a small window for our sidewalk closure permit, and wanted to make sure OUR sign was up... the painters ended up having enough time to paint after we were done.

i wanted no part of having to paint that entire band with the wind.

actually, most people DONT see this sign from directly below the sign.
    this building has freeway visability.

i like the idea about tilting the letters though.
by not mounting the letters "flush" you would create but more wind load and the whole sign would have to be re-engineered.
