I agree with the article. I've had some sucess with doing it pretty much the way stated in there.
The clutch didn't do so well though...

I had a Honda 900 that used a qt. of oil every 1000 miles. It had 6000 on the clock. I decided to blow it up so warranty would fix it. I ran it 14 miles WFO,the headers were red and afterwards the thing never used a drop of oil and ran better too.
