    Vegas People...

So, I've been to Vegas a few times, but I've only stayed on Las Vegas Blvd. I'm going back soon, and I was wondering if staying on Fremont is worth it. It's cheaper for everything, which is what lures me. But is it worth it for a couple late 20s people to go there? Mainly we're going there just for a vacation to have fun, drink, and lay around. We might gamble some if the time merits.

    What do you guys think?

If we stay on the main strip, we'll stay at Ballys, MGM, or the Mirage. Not sure if we stay on Fremont.

I go to Vegas 2-3 times a year and only paid for a room the first 2 times about 3 years ago. Now I get my rooms comped. I have always stayed on the strip and have only been to Freemont like twice. All the good stuff is on the strip so I wouldnt stay anywhere else. If you do plan on staying some where else just rent a car. They are cheaper there than probably your home town. I rented a car here in Dallas for $100 for the weekend, in Vegas I rented a car for $250 for the week, and the only reason it was that much was because I had to get insurance for it. Had I taken my insurance card with me it would have been closer to $200.

My recommendation would be either the Monte Carlo or the NYNY if your paying full price. They are still Mirage MGM casinos but a little less expensive.

I will be heading out there again the week of my birthday January 23rd for S.H.O.T. show and I can get "friends" room rates of $79-$89 per night at the casino I stay on most occasions.

Ive done Vegas about 2 dozen times, stay on the strip, much more to do.
I am a big fan of MGM Grand. Good location and honestly you dont need to leave that casino unless you want to, everything needed is inside of the place to keep a person entertained.

The first time I stayed in Vegas I stayed at the MGM. Not a bad place, but I would like to try another place. I might stay at Bally's or the Luxor. I know the Luxor is a ways away, but I don't mind walking.

Last time I was there I paid a one time fee for a shuttle service, that basically drove all over Las Vegas Blvd. So, I might opt for that again, instead of a rental car. No real reason to leave the strip. Like you said, everything is right there.

I don't know what to tell you except if you aren't on the strip, make sure you have some transportation. I had friends who lived on Flamingo when I went and they were 2 blocks from the Hard Rock Cafe, Bally's, Caesar's, and Bellagio. I was just upset that I didn't make it to Palms. Make sure you go to Sin and Sapphire's. If you like clubbin hit Pure at Caesar's.....I week is not enough time at Vegas IMHO...

I've stayed at the Flamingo. It wasn't a bad hotel, but if you're going to be hanging around in your room a lot, then its not worth it. I think we paid like $39 a night or something like that back in august.
