    UTI

Has anyone on here ever enrolled at UTI in their automotive programs? If so, can you tell me about your experience? I'm thinking about enrolling and before I call the admission people back, I'd like to hear from some of you guys if at all possible.

    Thanks,

    Lets see:

    1. Pay UTI $40,000, waste 1-3 years for a shit degree, get shitty job.

    Or

    2. Get the same shitty job without whatever UTI degree, have $40,000 to do whatever with (Or, be not-40k-in-debt)

Looks like I saved you a buh-oatload of cash. Donations for my financial advice are greatly appreciated, PM me for my Paypal account, or buy my book to learn more quick ways to real wealth.

    No no no nonononononononoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

I went there, and yes, I did learn alot about cars, but 95% of what I learned I could have done with just the textbook, some tools, and my own car. It was in no way shape or form worth the painful amount of money I spent for one year of going there, and in the current economy, jobs openings are HARD to find for a brand new mechanic.

Don't buy the bullshit they feed you about guaranteed jobs and shit they will find you, its completely false unless you are one of the 2% that actually makes it into one of the manufacturer programs... which is WAY less likely than they make it seem like.

All in all, my impression of them was that they are money greedy bastards. Yea, you will learn your shit if you apply yourself, but you can do it WAY cheaper elsewhere.

The East Coast UTI is right near my house and I know a lot of people who have gone there. Its absolute shit. Everyone is a ricer and has the shittiest cars and end up going no where with it after. They get the same jobs they could of had without going.

Like mentioned there is an extremely small amount that do make it somewhere special. A friend of mine graduated and got a job with Porsche right after.

I wouldn't bother after talking with some former students. Just go to your local community college. You'll get just as good of an educations and save some dough.

If I can save just one person from wasting their money on that place, then I can consider it a job well done.

If you don't have your heart set on the mechanic thing, as far as education goes, I would highly suggest an accredited 4-year university. A bachelors degree is now basically the minimum requirement for most good jobs now; an associates degree from a CC, etc won't get you far and you'll only need to go back for at least another 2 years to get any worth out of the time already spent.

autozone, o'reilly's, napa, and toyota's certified body shop doesnt pay enough for me. if you can manage to get a business for yourself cool, but if your working for someone else in that industry with no partnership, then no go bro.
