well my mom got some landscaping done in her backyard by a friend, added some grass around the pool trying to make it look nicer, well since she has grass in the backyard now, the mexican lawn guys went back there for the first time to cut it, no biggy whatever,

she has big glass french doors that you can see the whole living room from the backyard, remember that.

two days later, my little brother comes home to find his wii ipod and 360 gone, as well as the tv, the livingroom was trashed, mom came home to find all her jewelry(which is worth close to nothing, just had sentimental value) her leather jackets, her new laptop, and some other nick and nacks missing too, they also went through her underwear drawer, called the police filed a report,

neigbors say they saw a shitty green durango out back earlier that day some mexicans in it, but didnt think anything of it (thought they were lawn guys)

Not sure what there is to discuss, you got robbed and you will never see that shit again. Replace it and cover the big french glass doors with something so people can't see what you have. Get a fn badass dog too.

Getting robbed is probably one of the worst feelings in the world. It makes you feel helpless. I personally never have, but one of my ex g/f's car got vandalized once and I know a few people who have had their shit stolen.

I remember back several years now a slough of robberies were going down in my subdivision, mostly car stereos. I had a system in my car, but also had a car alarm so I wasn't overly concerned being that this car was always parked either in the driveway to where I could hear it, or in the garage. Then I heard a garage got broken into and then a house. That freaked me out, so I made sure to get the word around that I had a dog, and a gun. Needless to say, that very weekend I replaced my garage service door with a steel door and deadbolt anyway. The old door was a POS, flimsy looking thing that would have collapsed with one kick probably.

Still this day I keep everything locked up always, and when I am not home, I leave the lights on and the television if it is going to be at night. I also keep the blinds closed.

People are just fucked up. Plain and simple. It's the world we live in unfortunately. Moral values are non-existent nowadays.

Good luck man and I hope karma plays a role here. Sucks that your family got robbed.

BTW - I know it sounds stupid, but check the classified ads. A friend of mine who got some upper-end stereo equipment stolen from his apartment kept doing that week after week and about a month and a half later....guess what? Bingo. He saw his shit in the classified ads and ended up calling about it to schedule an appointment to come check it out.

He went there with a police officer and it turned out, it actually was his! He ended up getting all his shit back and they arrested the guy (who claimed he bought it from someone else).

It sounds retarded, but thieves aren't always the brightest (hence why they are thieves).

Been burglarized twice. Second time I came home to the guy still in the house. He's lucky Illinois doesn't have concealed carry. But that's Chicago politicians, always looking out for the criminals.

About 7 years ago I had $10K worth of firearms stolen, felt so damn bad when I went into the room and everything was gone.

I got 2 safes now to keep guns and other stuff in, should have done that a long time ago. I'm a firm believer in the saying "What goes around, comes around". Close to 6 years later one of the guys I think was involved got pan-caked by a truck while walking down a hwy.

Get an alarm system for the house. At ~$1 a day ($126 every 3 months) it's cheap and provides piece of mind. It also got me a 5% reduction in the cost of my home insurance

That's what I ended up doing after my house got robbed and totaly tossed in the process back in 2006. They didn't take anything large but they did get all the jewelry, all the old coins, 3 oz of gold and my firearms. Maybe $10K in stuff. Took me months to get the house back into order.

Oddly enough they didn't take my baseball card collection which is worth more than all of that put together.
