    US Gov't Clears Toyota

A U.S. government investigation into Toyota safety problems has found no electronic throttle flaws to account for reports of sudden, "runaway" acceleration. US Transportation Secretary stated "There is no electronic-based cause for unintended high-speed acceleration in Toyotas."

Finally, the Toyota witch hunt is over.

Maybe Toyota can sue all those fake "victims".

Toyota is still number in world wide sales. Seems customers feel safe.

Now if we could only get people to adjust floor mats properly....

its actually the gas petals getting cought on the floor mat. i had to do a bunch of recalls, pretty much all you do is remove the gas petal and shave it down about half an inch

You're leaving out an important part of the governments findings. They said the unintended acceleration was due to mechanical flaws. Which means the pedals were sticky and/or the floor mats were getting stuck under the pedals.
Doesn't really matter if it electrical or not...its still a recall problem.

Sounds like it all boils down to them all needing a driver mod...

Hmm....my floor mats don't get stuck because I move them if they start to bunch up. Guess that's not part of the license requirements ...too bad.

Do you actually understand what the recall is or are just blinded by your Toyota love?
The problem occurs with a properly placed floor mat. It touches the pedal and jams its. It doesn't have to bunch up much or at all to do it. There simply isn't enough clearance.
And the other problem is with the pedal mechanically sticking.

That's why I bought a new Camaro SS. I only bought the Lexus RX as it is made locally and I support local jobs.

I undertand the witch hunt of Toyota only to discover that even the US gov't couldn't recreate the problem.

Yes there were a few issues but no where near what we were led to believe. Not that the gov't would ever lie or hype things up for their own gains.
