Update on my little girl...
Well....
I am having a pretty rough weekend.
Sara was admitted to Children's once again for another infection. Had a fever of 104.7 Wednesday evening in the ER.
I was luckily able to go down and see her for 4-5 hours Thursday afternoon, since work is pretty slow.
Anyways, yesterday they did an ultrasound of her kidneys. As many of you may remember, her left kidney is basicly completely blocked from draining to the bladder, so we have a tube coming out of her lower back to drain that kidney.
Well, her right kidney is now showing blockage. Which is why this infection was pretty nasty, she couldn't get rid of the infected fluids in that kidney.
Currently on IV antibiotics, but doing well. Will be at Children's until at least Monday, probably longer.
So how do we fix it??? With a major surgery that will basically be a reconstruction of her urinary system. He will take parts of her small intestine and use them to reroute the exits of both kidneys, and hopefully be able to do it internally...although that may not be possible and then we will have to route them to the skin. This is a long surgery and will involve about 5 days in the hospital after it is done.
Problem is, we aren't sure why the blockage suddenly came up. The surgery could be VERY difficult depending on the location of the tumors and where they need to run the new ureturs.
Yeah.....

I don't even know what to say, Curtis...
I couldn't even begin to imagine what you guys go through. I know it's gotta be a nightmare though. Our children... if we could only take on the pain for them!
Stay strong and keep positive. I know it's hard, but you have to keep those positive thoughts front and center.
Wishing you all my very best!
And, give that little monkey an extra kiss from me

I'm sorry Curtis. Nothing tougher on us than seeing our kids suffer. That helpless feeling is the hardest. You stay positive and strong for her. These lil girls can read us like a book and all she ever needs to see from Dad is positive/strength. We cry our eyes out when we are alone.

She's a fighter though, some of the stuff you've posted on here seemed pretty bad, but she keeps hanging in there.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!!!
Sara makes me look like a complete pussy at times with all the crap she has already been through. I have no doubt she will make it through this without an issue.
I just wish I could take all of this shit from her and deal with it myself.
