What a pain in the ass those are getting to be, you never even know what to look for. This morning on my way home from work, what do I see but a new Ford F-350 with flashing lights all over the place, pulling over someone the other direction.

There's a lot of unmarked Camaros out here and unmarked Intrepids and who knows what else.

There was a girl who was abducted and killed here if I remember right by some punk bastard who pulled her over after making his car look like an unmarked cop car with all the lights.

A few other guys tried that with other girls after that.

A few months ago, I was running and passed a Ford Explorer with someone pulled over. No markings at all, lights in the back tinted windows and grill. He did have lights on top, but they were built into what looked like a ski rack!

No lie, I was behind a red late model mustang while down on vacation in Florida, and sure I was going probably 80 or so WITH traffic, and out of NOWHERE a lamborhgini with DARE graphics all over it comes up behind me with lights flashing.

I pulled over, and the cop passed me and tagged the mustang in front of me.

I would never have believed something like this if it didn't happen to me first..

I drive a 2005 Ford Explorer that's "unmarked". We have magnets on the sides but no hard stickers. Truck lights up like a christmas tree when I hit all the buttons. I like to sneak up on other patrols and blast the air horn...that's always fun...

The law in Illinois was that if an unmarked turned on his lights you didnt have to stop for him. However if he pulled up beside you and showed you (via uniform badging) that he was a cop then you had to pull over. The advise goes that you should find a well lit populated area, call the police and have them verify that you are in fact being pulled over by a legitimate officer. You are under no obligation to roll down your window for them.
