    tv issues

just wanted to know if im the only one who has had this problem. the other day i tried to play my old nes and super nes on my tv in my living room but they would not work. i hooked them up to my old 25" in my bedroom and the turned on. im not sure what the problem is, the tv in my living room is a 50" hd dlp. i changed it to the air setting but nothing. this is kinda pissing me off that a tv like that will not play an old nes or super nes.

does anyone have anything i could try to get it to play?

Hmm. These are all RCA connections right?

Have you ever had it hooked up to this tv before?

My friend has a dlp and he plays video games on his. Being a video game shouldn't matter. It is a video signal problem it sounds like.

i have my ps3 on that tv and it works just fine but is hooked up with a hdmi cable. nes and super nes uses just the coax cable not the rca. i had it switched to air but nothing. i tried on both chn 3 and 4. i dont know maybe im doing somehting wrong. just ticks me off that it worked just fine on my old tv

forgive me because it's been a million years since I messed with either but isn't there a converter line that goes to the tv? It's not as simple as running a coax from the game to the tv.....pretty sure mine had a converter on them.

according to this it uses either or, coax or RCA. Not sure....

Looks like no converter is needed though.

Maybe the setting shouldn't be on air, but something else. I would think it should work.

Like IROC said though, you might not want it to work lol.

On a serious note OP, You need an RF adapter.

I haven't seen one in years because most new consoles and TVs use the red/yellow/white components, but this is one:

Don't know if stores sell them anymore, but there seem to be quite a few on ebay:

Yeah I don't think I ever actually owned one, but a couple of my friends did back in the day and god damn did we spend a lot of time adjusting the fuckers so we could see through the static haze.

They still make those converters. Last year my friend had to get one to hook up the atari.

WAY too much noise on an RF signal. You can improve the quality of your game by finding the RCA cables for the SNES and NES. Towards the end I had mine set up that way. I ditched my NES, SNES, N64, GameBoy original, Game Boy Color, Game Gear, Sega master system, Virtual boy.... and all the games. little over a year ago i think. Got a decent bit of coin for it all. Freed up a whole closet getting it out of there.
