TURKEY! duh? I'm with Hi-Po turkey and beer and lions getting their asses kicked. Yup. How can Ham even be in competition with turkey? Turkey and a beer buzz and maybe a lil champagne is the shit lol

I did it 2 years ago for a thanksgiving party at work. My first time attempting it with no help from anyone who'd ever even seen it done before. It was a pain in the ass, messy as fuck (definitely do it outside on a parking lot or something), dangerous (I'd probably have 3rd degree burns all over me from grease if I hadn't had the foresight of borrowing an apron), but when it was all said and done everybody was in mutual agreement that it was the best damn turkey any of us had ever had.

While turkey is a must on Thanksgiving I prefer Ham. Never had deep fried turkey though. I have smoked turkeys though and they are AWESOME!!!

If you get turkey deep frying kits they come with peanut oil, not like it is a huge secret, lol. We deep fry every year, and oven cook one also.
Turkey for thanksgiving, Ham for christmas. ALWAYS

We were given a deep fryer for Christmas a few years ago. Still haven't used it though. Heh, with my luck my husband would burn the house down! I'm sure I'll get around to using it sooner or later though.
I soak mine in a brine. That makes for a really good oven roasted turkey.
And for Christmas... Prime Rib Roast all the way!

Wild turkey is the best hands down, not a store bought butterball.
