Turkeys are dumb and probably think your bike's a frog.

Turkeys are smart for birds. Shoot one and the rest will flee.... but remember you have to yell they're coming right for us!

I got some ducks like this, one of them loves to do the "Come At Me" pose every time I see him. He must know if there weren't any possible witnesses he be already plucked and in my freezer by now.

That's hilarious I used to have 4 geese that I raised from goslings and they used to chase people off my property like dogs would and believe me, they bit and... people ran from them It was great.

looking at the coloring those are either wild or wild birds someone is pen raising. My guess would be the green bike is what pissed them off. We're still a couple months off of breeding but bright colors in general will piss off the tom's and make them strut and get aggressive. Make no mistake....a turkey will kick your ass if provoked. I winged one a few years ago and then killed it by hand with a knife. It beat the shit out of me before I finally got it killed.

Yeah, I'd say those six turkeys had busted out of somebody's cage, cuz NO we don't have wild turkey roaming roads, this is why I stopped, "ain't nobody gonna believe this unless I have pics"

you're in Ohio right? Very few counties in Ohio that don't have them. I see them on a regular basis around here.

those wild turkey taste a lot different than store bought birds. There's virtually no fat on them for the most part and their legs are almost inedible because of the tendons. You basically can only boil or slow cook the legs and pull the meat. Another fact about turkey......hardest animal in the woods to hunt. If they could smell I don't believe you could kill one. Their eye sight is incredible and they travel in flocks so you have 30 sets of eyes watching sometimes. They see in color and any kind of movement at all will send them from 0 to 60 in about 2 seconds. They run fast as hell but if they try to fly it's like watching a wreck in slow motion.....they really fly like shit but can outrun a deer.
Another pretty cool thing is their feathers. See how they kinda overlap on those tom's breast? It's surprising how tough those are to shoot through. They almost act like armor. You have to head shoot them or it's hard to kill them. You can rock them with number 4 high brass at 30 yards which will put a hole in a car door but yet you pluck the bird and very few if any of the shot got through the breast enough to leave a mark.Last edited by 0rion; 02-09-2013 at 01:42 AM.
