Top Line Tires In Madison, AL *rant*

So... I had two tires that I needed to get mounted yesterday and this shop was recommended...they mounted the tires and balanced them. No big deal right...? I walked outside yesterday after I got home to wipe all the grease off my wheels and look what I found.......

The photo shows an awful lot of sidewall cracking in the rubber. Might want to check the DOT date code.

Talked to the manager today and they are going to fix the wheel or replace it if it can't be fixed. I'm pretty sure he knew that it happened because he did not even attempt to argue with me... it was almost too easy...

I would also have them mount 2 more tires in better condition when they replace that wheel. Nice that they are taking care of it.

If the Maypops are on the rear, turn them into sure-slip no-grip super-slick racin' tires.

I was advised by a local tire shop to occasionally coat tire sidewalls with non-stick cooking spray to prevent checking. I have done this on a couple of trailers that sat outside for extended periods and it seems to help. Anyone?

Around here I find some shops throwing a disclaimer on mounting tires on custom wheels. Any shop that wants me to sign that, I leave. If you can't mount a tire on a wheel regardless if it's a custom then why be in this business? Train your staff.

    Dead right there!!!

I have just the one tire shop which i trust and they always use the plastic gizmos on the tire machine which locks the wheel in place and the
arm which does the prying also is plastic and finally any tire irons to help with levering also has a plastic coating.

Happy to pay the rate as they NEVER mess up!
