It's not the same as but if it were why would there be a need to make an American version? They did a good job of making it very American. I was lacking the British comedy that made Top Gear so over the top but we're not in Britain nor are we British. It was still funny and Tanner's time on Battle of the Supercars gave him some back bone. He is really a nice guy. I've seen little of the guy with a beard and barely recognize the mole guy. I am looking forward to the series.

I watched it on the History Channel.
It definitely lacks the comedy...

I think they are doing a good job at slaughtering it. It just seems like an extension of battle of the supercars mixed with the same things the original top gear does. It's just not the same. Those guys have years of experience, idk just not as cool

Artic White- 2001 Camaro SS
I got to see that episode tonight and honestly I was truely disappointed. The British version was much better and best of all it didn't have Tanner in it.

Pewter- 2001 Camaro Z28 M6
I thought Tanner was good on SuperCars on speed and was find on the american version of top gear.
I actually liked the american version of top gear, and cant stand the british version. They bitch more then a fat chic without cake on a reality show...

I watched... Not nearly as good as the Brits, yet they actually have a professional race car driver to put his input in(Foust). He seems to be too nice though. He gave the Viper a proverbial blow job.
And how the hell does the Superleggera have a better MPH in the standing mile than the SV?

I think we definitely need an American opinion on the show, but not in the form of this show. The Brits always say how can Americans have such large motors and not make any power but I don't think they understand that we expect to buy American cars to upgrade. When you buy a Camaro or whatever you think, oh I'll throw a head cam intake package with exhaust just cuz, you don't buy a Lamborghini and buy anything for it except wheels or small things.

when does the british top gear come back on? shouldnt they be back soon? I would have watched this one just for shits, but from the commercials, it looks kinda bland. Like another dull american show.

It's a retarded twin brother of the British Top Gear. They tried too hard to make it exactly the same. It would fare better if the TG-Britain show wasn't on air anymore and people wanted to watch.

full episode is available online, for those who missed it. im checking it out. it seems like a fun show, but a lot looks forced. the actors have to pretend to have chemistry. its hard to match what those british blokes had.
