Top gear coming to the history channel

So I just saw the preview for the American top gear on history channel. Wonder how this will turn out.

Hopefully the American version wont kill it for me. I love the UK version. I even upgraded my cable just so that I could get BBC America and be able to watch Top Gear. It's easily my favorite show on tv. I wonder if they're gonna keep with the same format as the UK version, i.e. budget car challenges, celebrity timed laps, The Stig, etc.?

It's gonna be on the History Channel???? That doesnt make any sense at all. I would understand if it were on SPEED, or SPIKE, or even Discovery. Who is supposed to host it?

the preview showed them in a 4 door sedan doing a top speed run...somethin like 168 mph....i think tanner foust is the host

Damnit. He's gonna kill it.

He's already had two shows on SPEED. His voice is really annoying. Why cant they just air the original Top Gear on an American network??? I was at least content with they were talking about Adam Carolla hosting it. He's funny. Top Gear has a lot of humor in it so he would fit just fine. Tanner Foust = not so funny, just annoying.

I like how they refer to the U.S. viewers of the show as "cultlike." Makes me feel devious; all for watching a British tv show, lol.

But are they car guys???

I know Jay Leno is a huge car guy, but he seems to have lost his funny. What about somebody like Ken Block, when he isnt busy flying through the woods of Euorpe in his little Ford Fiesta? They featured him on the UK version on a couple different episodes. He would be pretty cool.

Jay Leno did want to do a car show like Top gear, he is also a fan of the Brits.

If Tanner is the host it will be nowhere near, not even as close, not even in the same ballpark as good as the British version. I doubt any host could make it as good as those three but making Tanner the host is just putting the final nail in the coffin before the show even airs.
