tooth implant

anyone here had a tooth implant? and if so how painful was it during or after? i know they give u pain shit during it but sometimes u can still feel shit sometimes. and afterwards, how sore have u been? i might have to stop being a pussy and make an appointment to have one done. i fucking hate the dentist though. fyi- for those that dont know what it is, they drill a hole where ur tooth once was put a little rod or something along that line, then screw your new tooth on the rod, kind of like putting a nut on a bolt.

Closest I've ever come to a tooth implant was having a crown done on a back tooth. I don't even notice it these days.

ive had a few crowns years ago. i also had a root canal about 8 mo ago and that wasnt as bad as i thought it would be, but something about "drill", "implant" and "mouth" doesnt make me feel very anxious to get it done.

i had it done. long story short, take vicodin 7.5s for a few days.
i was sore for about a week. its not really a painful soreness.

they dont just drill a simple hole into where your tooth was. they basicly drill a screw into your jaw.
then after that, they wait about 2 months to make sure all healed well then attach the tooth (crown) to the post.
ive had the implants about 5 years now, two of my back teeth.

im pretty sure she(my dentist) is right on this one. i had two teeth pulled a little under two years ago.(2 very back teeth on the left top side of my mouth) so im pretty sure she's not bullshitting me.

i used to eat 10-13 lortab 10's a day. i had a problem w/painkillers(i was an addict lol) seriously though, if i wasnt on atleast 5-7 i was a total dickhead(attitude-wise). ask my g/f. g/f set up an appt w/a doctor who specializes in people who are addicted to pain meds, went and saw him. gave me a script of some stuff that would wean(sp?) me off of them. long story short, was on that for about a week and a half and no shit it cured my craving for any type of pain killer. its beeen just shy of year since ive had any sort of narcotic pain killer. ive even turned down a handful numerous times since.

yea, its crazy what people will pay for pills. i wouldnt pay more than $4 for a painkiller no matter what it was.

i wish i was like that(could take one one day and be ok for a few days then take another....) but once i had a few in my system i had to have more the following day.

i will never forget the first time i tried lortab's(they were 10's-blue Watsons)i was already buzzing from beer and my buddy gave me 3. boy, i was feeling "comfortably numb" as described by Floyd(one of my fav bands). it was great.

once i was hooked i had to have them, it was pretty pathetic actually now that i look back at how i was. i mean all day at work i didnt think about anything else besides getting off work at 5, going home, and eating my 7-8 lortab 10's along with a couple beers. this went on for about 2 years.
im so glad im done with that shit now though.
