Time for a rifle or shotgun. Which one?

Time to pick up a semi-auto rifle or a shotgun. What rifles should I be looking at?

Thats not a semi-auto shotgun, you have to pump it. A semi-auto shotgun would be autoloading shotgun, which is usually used for duck hunting. I have a remington 1100 that was my grandfathers, its nice, but its not a combat shotgun like the one you have shown.

I recommend you go with a Remington 870 and mod it yourself, Lots and lots of parts and you can make it into whatever you want and its very inexpensive to mod and to buy in the first place! Not to mention a very good gun in general. But again, that is a pump shot gun.

As far as rifles, it really depends on what your into. My favorite is my Remington 7600, its a pump rifle and is chambered in 30-06. I have the carbine model, Its very accurate.

No point in a rifle unless your using it semi long range. A shotgun would do much more damage close up.

I'll be buying both, but only one right now. If I go shotgun, it'll be a pistol grip gun that's ready to go. I'm not modding my gun like I do my cars.

Shooting is a hobby so my guns are for range use. Of course, my pistol doubles as home defense.

get a good over/under double barrel.. Put a shotgun shell in the top and a slug in the bottom ...

If your target is close, go with the shotgun.

Definitely an awesome shotgun! I have yet to shoot one but i have shot a lot of 870s

They make a lot of versions of the 870 if you dont want to mod it yourself.

But really the mods are very basic, almost like bolt ons, its really simple. like the grip is just one screw on the bottom, to change from a stock to a pistol grip literally takes like 30 whole seconds. Even the magazine extender is very easy, takes just a couple mins.

Rifle - any decent quality AK.

There are so many types of rifles to choose from. What are you wanting to spend, any caliber preferences? Are you wanting something thats really accurate or something that kinda looks cool?

I'd like to keep it around $600 or less for a rifle. No caliber preference, but ammo is expensive these days. I don't like thelook of the Ruger 10/22 or rifles like. I'm looking for something that will be fun at the range.
