Question Time to buy more pistols. Suggestions?

    I'd like to pick up a 9mm & a .22. Both must be semi-auto.

I have a S&W M&P .40. I love it and would get the 9mm version, but I'd like to try something different.

I'd like to keep it under $400 each and am not against buying used.

Stay away from the glock 9mils.... they are garbage when it comes to target shooting(which is what I assume you want it for)

+2 on the .22 pistols. Cheap to shoot, accurate.

I'm also going to spend some loot this summer on firearms before the Democrats get into office.

I love my Glock 23 (it's also my duty weapon)

For the .22, I like the bull-barreled Rugers, but I prefer the Browning Buckmark bull barrel target version. I have one with a red dot scope (LaserAim, I think) and it is super accurate with Remington Target (blue and green box). Capable of less than a 1.5" group at twenty-five yards and while I know a .22 doesn't have any real recoil, the heavy barrel of the Buckmark Target balances so well the gun basically doesn't move, it just cycles. It is sweet.

I've had good luck with the Taurus 92/99 line. I put over 9000 rounds through one, including handloaded hard cast lead RN 124 gr. bullets that made decent accuracy and did not excessively lead the barrel. Decent accuracy means 4.5 inch groups, good quality jacketed bullets were much better (2.5-3.0 inch) but the lead bullets were much more economical for plinking. I have large hands and the grip fit well. Of course, the Beretta line is almost the same except for the safety (Taurus used the older Beretta design which did not have a decocker).

Sig Sauer, Springfield, S&W (5906 specifically) are also some choices I would recommend.

personally i think .22's are a waste of money, why shoot a .22 when you can shoot a
.223, 7.62 or a 30/6......its like going from driving a trans am or vette to the smart car.
