Ticket ?
to the cops on the site. I just have a ? about a ticket i received the officer pulled me over and told me that the reason i was being stopped was for driving on a suspended license. which i honestly had NO idea happened. because i did pay my restoration fee for my registration from when i switched insurance companies. Well before the scheduled suspension on my license was to take affect if it was not paid which again it was paid three weeks before the scheduled day. so NO suspension should have taken place. well he goes back to his car to find out what happened with my license. after about ten minutes he comes back and gives me a ticket for it. he also states to me that he found out while looking into it on his comp. that it shows me as being suspended when they run my tags but it also showed that i was fully restored and able to legally drive as of June 4th. but he had to give me the ticket still since it shows suspended. Is that true that he still had to give me the ticket and how can i get it taken care of so i don't get hit with a heavy fine since again I was and am allowed to legally drive.

the officer said to go to my local DMV and see why it still shows as suspended so tomorrow morning i am going to the main DMV in deptford to see what's going on and if they can provide me with proof that i could drive as of the 4th of June. and take that to court he said they would drop the ticket i just want to know if there is anything else i can do or need to do to make sure that this deff. gets dropped. and if the cop still had to issue the ticket knowing i could legally drive

I've got no idea what NJ laws are on this subject, but I feel there was another reason to initiate the stop. Regardless, it sounds like you get confirmation from DMV that your license was valid on that day and the court will likely dismiss the charges. I'm guessing the officer is required to issue the citation because one system is considered binding and the other isn't.
Get the info and go to court.

yes i am sure that is the reason he told me that he was stopping me i wasn't speeding or doing anything else illegal i deff. make sure that i follow the speed limit and other ordinances (sp) in that township. and not saying all cops do it cause im not sure but around here quite a few run your tags without probable cause. case and point about two months ago i had a cop run my tag while i was in the store i come out he calls my name out i have no idea who he is, and when i walked over to his car he said he has the the same car with the same rims and wanted to see what year mine was so he ran my tag. they say that they don't do it but some will run your tags while your driving or stopped at a light.

Maybe so, but a LEO would have the knowledge of that. What that means is IF the case goes to court, the PC of the stop will be attacked. He would (or should) be ready to support the stop with an offense OTHER than what he can get from running a tag. At least turning without signaling or something of the like (even if it was only a warning). That way, the stop is justified.

so after he said your license was suspended and gave you a ticket he let you DRIVE away with a SUSPENDED LICENSE???? hmmmmm kind of strange IMO. i would have thought he would have let you call someone to come pick you and your vehicle up or something instead of letting you drive w/a suspended license.

he asked how i was going to get home after he gave me the ticket i told him i would make a couple calls. i made two while he was still there but before i did call anyone he said "i can't let you leave while i'm here but what you do once i leave is up to you since you don't have far to go to your apartment" which was literally two minutes away.

Sounds like this particular LEO was a pretty decent sort actually, He did cite you, but he researched it for you. Gave you the details. Gave you instructions on how to overcome it. Let you be to make calls to arrange a ride. DIDN'T TOW your car ( That so would have happened here) So you didn't incur a tow bill/impound fee. Then let you drive home (because he knew you really had a license). He knows you'll get off from the ticket. I know a couple LEO's and if they pull you over, run want's & warrants on you ( call it in ) there's trail for the stop. He had to cite you to cover his ass. The rest he Could have done and Didn't. Fekk nice Officer to me. He could have RUINED your day...
I would buy that sumbitch a beer if I met him in a bar.
But that's just me
