Burple- 1966 427 Cobra Replica
Thinking of trading/selling the SS...
for a C3 'Vette.
Just curious what input AAG might have on the idea.
I'd like to get a convertible but they're pricey/rare enough that I'd have to chop an arm off to go with the Camaro to make it happen.
Definitely wanna go pre '75 if I can to avoid cats.

BAD idea...
massivly slow compared to our LS1 cars...
i had a 1974 string ray... t-tops... 4 speed... yellow... rally wheels... L82 engine... all original accept headers and exhaust...
i bought it for 8,900.00 back in 1998...
i put that much money in to it... fixing things that broke...
not near as fun to drive as my trans am...

Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
If you were aiming for a C5/6 then I would say yes, but keep it compared to a C3.

If those cars are your dream car, then go for it, but if not, I wouldn't get rid of the SS.
Speed and handling are no comparison, IMO. The Mako Shark isn't quite as cool as the "Catfish" to me, either.
Either way, it's your deal. At least you didn't say "For a Mustang"...

They're slow. A guy at my highschool had one, and it wasn't much faster than my car is.

Pewter- 2001 Camaro SS hard top
IMO c3's look great, grew up with a picture of my dads old '78 on my wall then he finally got another one about 6 years ago, they're great to cruise around in and will turn heads (get more looks in the vette than in my camaro), that being said it would take alot of work to come close to an ls1 car in performance, its a tuff call but i geuss i'm a little spoiled cause i can drive both
'01 SS hardtop 6-speed - SLP lid and smooth bellows, Magnaflow catback, TSP LT's and ORY, Tune by Frost, Founders PB,LCA's and RB's, UMI 2 pt SFC's, Strano front and rear sway bars- Strano springs and Bilsteins.

So, you're saying a lighter car with IRS handles worse than an F-body...?
I know it won't be as quick as the SS. I'd be really surprised if it was. As money permitted, though, I was planning on swapping heads/cam/intake.
Spaz, what kept breaking that required so much money for upkeep?

As far as the C3 being my dream car, it's not. I do love my SS but who wouldn't want a convertible Corvette?
The C5 and C6 are just too expensive. I can afford to make payments on one but I don't want to. And the C4... unless I could find a really REALLY clean mid 80s car, no thanks.

what the problem was is my car had 68,000 miles on it and it was all original... still had the damn original tires and every thing... the body was in PERFECT condition... just the parts werealmost 25 years old and shit just started to break...

NBM / Silver- 00 SS / 71 SS Elcamino
You don't have to stick to the stock motor, I like the early 70's vettes like on Rush Hour (the black vert). Get ya one then stuff a built Big block in there. You'll be happy.
2000 SS Camaro Heads, Large cam, Fast 90, 9"w/430's and locker, yada yada yada... you get the picture
1971 SS ElCamino 402 Big Block 550HP
2006 Silverado 2500HD 496 cubic inches of pure muscle
