    thinking about selling the GTO

I'm thinking about selling my 04 GTO, but have no clue what kind of price to ask for it.

04 GTO, Hugger Orange with a full custom sheet metal widebody, pump gas 12.56:1 compression big cam 408 stroker, 4,000 stall, built 4l60e transmission, 14" 2011 drilled/ slotted rotors, 4 piston CTSV calipers up front and 2 piston calipers in the rear, 18" wheels and tires, 3" dual exhaust.

The car has manual rack, manual brakes, a/c has been removed (have most of yhe parts to reinstall) air bag system has been removed, but still have the air bags on the shelf, MR2 front seats and 5 point harnesses.

Any clue what price to ask for my baby?

96,000 on the car, about 5,000 on the engine (full machining, new pistons, new cam) and went through the tranny at the same time replaced the front pump and stall.

Cam is 255/266 .624/.624 115lsa, ported and milled 241 heads, Edelbrock Proflo xt intake, Morton 60lb injectors

Well what kind of time slips do you have with the car?

Is there a week point in the drivetrain to handle that power?

Obviously you will get more parting it out and selling the shell

I think you could ask 19k? who knows. All depends on what someone is willing to pay you. Start very high!

I'd find out what the private party value of the car is..............and then add on 50% of the cost of your mods (not including paid labor).

That is about the going rate.

I think JP is about right. I know when I sell something (parts) that are OEM or aftermarket that are used, I typically sell them for 50% of original cost as that seems to be the going rate. If it is something that is more highly demanded, such as a BlackWing airbox lid that is no longer available and supply is minimal (CME is another example), then I typically will raise the price and start high.

Unfortunately, anything that is custom is usually more difficult to sell as you limit yourself to more of a niche market; people wanting that exact body-style or engine set-up.

Either way, the car is badass and I know you have a lot of time and sweat into it. Probably blood too

Good luck if you decide to sell it.

Being that the car is a "one-off" that goat will be difficult to sell. Then you have the folks that would ask why the option delete and interior changes if they are "spoiled". Also, with all those mods you did to it, do you really want to see someone drive that unicorn into the ground? Just saying.

    What will be the replacement?

As of now, I think I'm keeping it and just selling the engine and brake kit

Probably just a good, cheap 5.3 for now.....at that point in life where I have some other priorities, then later on after I get the house paid off I can get back into it and build something bigger and better for it

I'd probably do the same. It's doubtful you'll get what you truly want out of it. (unless the right person shows up at the right time, but it could happen)
