Thinking about this for a RELIABLE DD
So with having so many experiences (bad / learning) with 400 dollar or 800 dollar beaters, I'm starting to really consider just biting the bullet, getting something nice that I can drive for the next 10 years.
What do you think about one of these:
I can get one for like 25.7K with the 6 spd auto, and other options ie upgraded stereo etc...
TDI is my only requirement for considering a VW
What are your thoughts, anybody know an owner of a similar 09 or 10 VW TDI?

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I have heard the TDIs are rock solid. One of our customers at my job just bought one and he is happy. Had a TDI Jetta and traded it for a Golf TDI.

VW reiiability is spotty
If I were looking for a good DD right now I'd get the 0% interest/60 months on the Mazda 3.
An economical car that is actually fun to drive and reliable for around $20k.

i picked up a 2007 G6 4 2.4L relatively well equipped...monsoon sound, cruise, auto, 45,000 miles (remaining factory warranty out to 100k miles or until 2012 powertrain warranty) for $9,900. i'm actually quite happy with it for a DD. i wouldn't want a brand new car and certainly not a vw...expensive to fix from what i've seen. if i could afford a monte ss or impala ss i'd go for that.

Navy Blue Metallic- 2000 T/A Firehawk M6
That's a feature on pretty much all German cars. It's so that you can indicate that your car is on the side of the road. You can put the tail light on either the right or left side depending on which shoulder you are in. Just having the one light means you will drain the battery much slower so your car will be visible for a longer period of time. First time my neighbor accidentally activated it on his 330i he thought the car was broken lol
