My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
Their fault or mine?
There has been a construction company working on a building in our parking lot for some time [over a year now] and recently they bought our parking lot but we still pay to park there.
Recently they've been leaving shit in the way of us being able to get to our lot. Today, as i was trying to snake past a crane, a truck and not run over their power washer/debris in the middle of the seque, i bashed my car along the wall [marked with a Red X] I was so fucking pissed! I asked to speak to a foreman, the guy said "well, their's no one incharge here now...why?" I said "b/c i just hit that wall due to his employee's leaving equipment in my way" he said "well, we own the parking lot" i said "I don't care, I PAY TO PARK HERE!" so he moved the equipment and I said "that doesn't help me i've allready wrecked the car" he said "there's nothing we can do"
So wtf do i do?! just grab my ankles here? Is it my fault that I hit the wall when I have a right to park in my parking lot or should they be responsible for it? I mean, i don't care about the car [my sexy 89 mercury topass], the damage is minimal but i'm so fucking livid over the jerk's response

this seems simple...
if you pay to park there then its understood that you do certain things and the owners do certain things. for instance, you probably know that setting up shop in the parking garage to swap a motor and spilling oil and coolant all over the place wouldnt sit well, so you dont do it. the same applies for them. you would expect, especially if you pay to park, a certain level of cleanliness, ease, and security. them leaving their tools in such a way that caused you to do damage to your car is not your problem. they should know better. and saying that they own the parking lot is irrelevant. you pay to park, hence your stake in the place. you could probably get them to pay if you pursued this with the head of operations or by legal action. but i say you start tearing apart a very dirty car freely and without care.....

It's your job as a driver to avoid immovable obstacles. It sure would be nice if they kept the lot clean, but being you can't avoid stationary obstacles, that isn't their fault. Now, if something of theirs was moving and you had to swerve to avoid it...that's a different story. Sorry to say it, but this is your mistake. Good luck with the repairs.

quite a few but the question should be how many miles do you think i can cover with my foot planted....
apparently there is something that is called miles per hour (must be a new trigononmetry dealy) that will tell you how far you will go in one hour at that speed. crazy what technology's doing aint it?
im an idiot....

Good luck with that in court. If he drove into a parked car in a parking lot, I doubt he could use that arguement. I see nothing different in this case. He drove into something sitting there in plain site.
Let us know how it turns out. It never hurts to fight it!

you are the one that uses ankle grabbing as your choice of imagery.
you didnt have to move the car if you didnt think it would clear the corner, but you did. so it's your fault. I am sure you're pissed off and the company. I would be too, but you go to admit that you did something you shouldnt have.
