Be careful, once you've have a practical car that was built right it's hard to go back to TA's.

And also fast enough to be entertaining.

Just don't get jaded into thinking it's truly fast.

I rarely, if ever will race someone on the street.

But I might have put a young kid driving one of those in his place once

that maxima is fast for what it is, and young drivers that have never driven anything faster start thinking they can take anything

That is actually pretty funny b/c when I was 16 and drove a 4 cylinder Saturn with OD...I thought it was F.A.S.T!!!!! A good friend of mine said it sounded like a blender on puree.

if you can deal with it constantly being in the shop with electrical problems. Somebody i know has one and it has tons of electrical gremlins, but it is a pretty quick car ill give it that

depending on what year, they have the crank walk issue like in that picture lol that body style. The older ones, the first generation didnt have the issue. crank walk means the crank would shift laterally in the block. I think the 2nd generations also had problems blowing turbos too

I'm not 310Stanger, but I do have a bit of knowledge on the DSMs.

I never owned one but I did a lot of research because I was seriously considering getting one (hence the reason I never owned one! )

The best version is the '92-94 models, the ones with the exposed headlights. They don't have the crankwalk issue, they have the stronger axles, and the '90-'91 were prone to the capacitors on the ECU leaking and frying it.

Closely check the transfer case on any of them as they can be prone to leaking. There is a permanent recall on them I believe.

Fortunately, there is such an aftermarket for the car that even the ECU is readily available in an upgraded version.

Avoid the '95 up to about the late '97 as they're the ones with the crankwalk. It was supposedly resolved around that timeframe.

The '95 and up model had a smaller turbo but a better intake than the previous years. A common upgrade is to use the '95 up intake on the earlier cars.

Don't get one as primary transportation. Get one as a toy to mod. They run much better modded than stock.
