I have a 95 z71 tahoe 2dr(tbi) w/ 240k
a 97 z71 tahoe 4dr (vortec) w 210k
and a 91 ECSB z71 p/u (tbi) w 485k Original miles.
they all have virtually the same drivetrain, The 2drs are bad ass because they look good, hold value, and are shortest wheelbase available in this bodystyle fullsize lineup, but I would recommend a 96 or newer due to the newer interior, and the aforementioned Vortec 350.

If you like that bodystyle go for the 96+... Vortec motor and better interior are worth it.
I prefer the solid axle set up of the pre 92 Blazers myself.

Love the K5. They go hand in hand with the Dodge ramcharger. I had a k5 years back but the rust ate it up. I got me an 85 ramcharger and i love it.

92-94, chevies, issues with cats, wiper module, failure of ABS units causing the vehicle to spin due to unblanced braking pressure (GM had over a 50% failure rate on the pumps from the factory floor), possibly weak gears in the rear end (big suprise). Not sure what all else.
I am also a proud owner of a trusty 90 Fullsize (V series, to id it from the K series half tons) Jimmy, hardly any drive train issues with it. and has been very reliable aside from the distributer having amoisture corrosion issue.

95 tahoe here. One thing better than the 96+ is almost no smog equipment. All I have is a cat and egr. The 96+ do have the vortec heads and more power. The abs light has been on for 4 years but who needs it. No complaints here.
