The Ted Wells report (deflate-gate)
I've been very surprised at the lack of free agency and draft talk in this forum, but even more surprised at the lack of reaction to this...
Key takeaways from Ted Wells report - NFL.com
When I first read the articles about the report, it seemed like no big deal. But it seems the report itself actually has some teeth to it. The part about Brady lying about his association with McNally (Patriots "ball guy") is the most interesting to me. After reading the details, I think there's going to be some real punishment dealt here.

it's the Pats.....no punishment worth talking about. The league is so biased towards the Pats that I'll be surprised if it's anything more than a fine. If that was the saints people would be suspended for half a season or more.

I'm reading that Brady WILL be suspended anywhere from 4 games to the entire season thanks to the text messages they found that confirmed he knew about the ball being deflated...

never gonna happen....he coulda deflated them himself and wouldn't get a whole year. I can see a 4 game suspension and then they'll count the preseason games

remember....this is the Pats we're talking about here. How many times in the last decade have they been caught cheating? 3 or 4? What was done about it? Next to nothing. The report makes sure to clear Belichick and Kraft even though with the Saints Goodell said not knowing wasn't an excuse and still banned Payton for a year. Wouldn't the same also be true here?

yea but the NFL has NEVER been under this much scrutiny...rape, assaults, drugs, cheating, fraud...you name it they've got it right now. I think they'll punish them its just a matter of what they'll do and when. If the NFL wasnt going through all the scrutiny they are right now I'd say you're right, but this situation is different because of what else is going on.

Pat's are the "Golden boys" and the Saints are the back woods or in this case swamp that no one outside Louisiana likes with exception to the Browns. No one likes the Browns....

Possible steal or one more chance to get bit in the ass for the Cowboys?

Most writers and sources inside the league are saying it's going to be pretty big. I think anything bigger than a 4 game suspension is pretty damn big, but not out of the question due to the fact that this is like the 4th or 5th time that the patriots have been involved in either cheating or bending the rules. That said, i'm definitely in the same mindset as Orion - how many times does an organization have to get caught breaking the rules before something is done to put a definite, complete, stop to the behavior? I do wonder that if it had not been the patriots - if it had been the Jets, or Bucs, or Chiefs or the like - if the penalties might have involved lifetime bans or something similar.
