So, as most people on here know. I have been trying to find a Trans Am, because my little sister is graduating and I'm giving her my Camaro, and I need to find a new car.

Anyway, there is this guy that I guess you could say is a "friend of a friend" I get along fine with this guy, it's just he has a horrible tendency of lying through his teeth everytime you talk to him.

Long story short, he calls me and says "Hey I found you a ta." I'm thinking awesome finally someone knows of one, well he tells me about it, turns out I've already looked at it and it was a terd.

I tell him yeah it's pretty nice, I liked it. so right away, "yeah I just drove it, HARD" I'm like oh cool you should buy it man, he says "I figured i'd tell you about it, yeah I can get it for $6500" first off buuullllll shit, I told the guy we could go to the bank right now if he would take 7k, and he wouldn't go lower than 7995, but a week later he will? whatever. then this guy goes on to tell me how the car has an LS2... I'm finally just like oh my god.....and tell him I have to get off of the phone.

Again, I like this guy alright he's okay to hangout with, but he's such a liar about stupid stuff.

for example- here are some of his "FINDS"

1998 z28 w/15k miles but a bad trans for $1000

full ls1 pullout w/ 40k for $500

2000 WS6 w/ the rare salad shooters for 7k(even though I asked the guy and he wanted 12k)

69 z28 w/ a 350 for $4500

examples of the superiority of his LT1 z28

with his hot cam kit and k&n intake he can beat any ls1
(later gets beat by- 99 prelude on 9psi 98 3.8 Camaro, and everyone else)

Claims to have a custom grind cam, heads etc. and ran a best time of 14.02 couldn't show timeslips etc.

I sent a pm to John_Stout he can tell you guys about it too.

ironically his name is *******, and around here we have "Newbie Stories" that we talk about for laughs.

I have a cousin like this. Everything that comes out of his mouth is bull. He had a turbo 89 dodge spirit once, (only car he ever owned or had to this day) moved in with my uncle in Fla. drove the car down there. Told everyone while he was down there he baught an Ultra-Z, one year later shows up on my grandfathers door step still driving his old spirit with the motor blown.. Wrecked 3 of my grandmothers cars totaling them rubber side up 2 of them and full reverse into a steal pole with her last car. He's nearly 30 now and still mooches of my grandfather for a place to stay. Never holds a job for more than a month owes child support out the wazoo. But if I see him he's always talking about the good old days with his Ultra-Z..

Try having a conversation about cars in high school... Jesus, if they can't make some shit up to one up you they'll throw someone elses car into the conversation. Yeah, but that dude's mustang, or yeah but a Bugatti...

yeah there was a guy my senior year who had a 3.5 charger, was convinced it would smoke everyone.
I told him shut up, and come see me when he ditches the four door.

his reply was Dodge made them 4 doors so they would fall into the "Luxury Sport Sedan Class"

Lol i meet guys like that almost everyday, Im not saying i know everything but i have been a mechanic for 9 years now, worked on everything from Tanks and military vehicles to push lawn mowers, I just have a thing for F-body's. Have owned several and when people tell me they have a Early 4th gen with LSX motor I ask them to pop the hood and being a nice guy i cant embaress them lol.

There are people like that all over. I just ignore them and let them live in their own fantasy world. I guess being like that makes them feel important or something. None of them ever seem to score the big deal they always know about though.

The Prelude is actually fairly decent, it's a 5spd w/ leather, and it's orange, about the same orange as Atomic Orange.

but it needs some work, but for $1100 I guess he did okay.

4th gen lude is way way away from a 4th gen f-body though....

he claims to have replaced the master/slave cylinders and clutch in the 4 days he's had it.....

and he told me the 94 engine build is almost done... 800hp 383 stroekr w/ a procharger....
