Sunoco hood installed and painted!!!
I recently bought a sunoco style hood off a company on ebay. I got a great deal on the hood and free shipping (helps to run a shipping department). When I recieved the hood I realized why it was soo cheap. The prep work needed was crazy. Plus the mounts for the latches and struts were really cheap.
My dad and I installed it. Got it to latch down and left it alone till I could get it to the paint shop.
This is before paint

the pictures for some reason make it look like the hood is way off in color. in person it looks fine. Unless you really stare and move around the car it is off just a very small amount. But overall its a good match
I know i need rims
Also about the flames. That was a suprise to me. The guy who painted it did it just to try, said if I didn't like them he could repaint it. I think it looks great specially in person so I will keep them

What? The painter just did that on a 'whim'? What a dumbass, that would have royally pissed me off if I went to get my car with the new hood... and some jach hole painted some flames on it when I didnt ask for it.
As long as you like it, then its fine. But that would have been a huge no-no for me.

sorry i guess i didn't post it up. The painter is a great friend of the family. Real good guy. When I dropped the car off he asked if I wanted anything different. I told him to keep it tasteful I trust you. He ran with that and the pics show the outcome. I honestly love it b/c from a distance you cant tell its there and then you get close and it really shows in the light.
