Stupid Old Man
Alright, there's a Pewtler 98-02 Trans Am WS.6 that's always parked in the Emergency Room Parking lot and when ever I'm walking to work I walk past it just to take a look. It's a M6, appears to be aftermarket cat back exhauset, TT2s, and has these blackish/silver flames on it that look pretty sick. One day I was going home and seen the owner, older guy getting in,he started it up and it had a nice rumble. Well over the weekend I see the car again at a local high school that I go hoop at. Well I was leaving and here comes the guy, I guess he's a coach for the Baseball team, I say, "That your bird?" He says yup. I asked him if he had done anything to the car and he told me that he bought the car off a lot and everything that was done to the car was done before he bought it. He said that it had a stero system, neon lights inside and underneath the car that he ripped out. I asked him if he had any performance mods and he said, "yea, it has a different exhaust," which I figured, and here's the bomb shell, "it also has a chip, you know about those?" I'm like yea, he said with those two things he pushing about 385 to the wheels. Thats when I knew he didn't know WTF he was talking about. I didn't have the SS with me so he probly thought I was some dumb ass kid who don't know shiiit about these cars. That's when I pulled out my keys and flashed my key fob and told him I had a SS and I corrected him and said with those mods you shouldn't be pushing that much HP. I hate it when people try and over exaggerate what they really have and that's when I like to bitch people.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Not all of us "Old Men" are doofuses when it comes to cars. I've been building fast cars since before there was such a thing as a catalytic converter or computerized anything.
Although I do agree with you on 1 point: Listening to folks flap their gums just to hear the sounds emanating from them. Especially about "chips" in OBDII cars.
Example: I keep seeing this old guy (for me to call someone old they really gotta be old) with a nice 02 SS at the Pavilions here in Phoenix. He claims his car came with an LS6. it does indeed have the LS6 block (you all know the story) and the LS6 intake (as do all 01-02) but when I pointed out the casting number on the head as being that of an LS1 he got all irate, got into his car and took off.

Black- 2002 Camaro SS M6
lmao, i was at a starbucks grabbing a coffee with this girl. and 2 guys pull up in a mustang, parks next to my black 2002 SS, they walk in and i genuinely compliment the mustang, it was a nice GT. he had the window louvers on it and everything. after i give him the compliment he looks at me and says, "yea, i bet you wish you could afford something that fast one day." i reply, "not really, i already own something better." press the lock button on keychain and the alarm chirps and lights flash.
hate stuck up pricks.

2001 3.8 Black - sold- 2000 SS Black M6
Theres a new guy that just started working with me, Hes got an 08 GT, really clean car, he got it without a spoiler though, black paint, red leather, dark grey fan blade wheels, manual. He's not a dick about his being new and a GT and has checked out my car. The only think is that hes done some small mods and thinks its something worth bragging about, like a CAI. He said I can drive it sometime, i think ill take him up on it.

You don't have to be old to be stupid, and not all us old guys are stupid either- I was running wet NOS in chevy smallblocks before most of the guys on this list were born-
Just because we have a few miles on us doesn't mean that we don't like a nice ride, or appreciate good machinery
And, remember, no matter how fast you think your car is, there is ALWAYS somebody faster- sooner or later you will find that out-
I have run chips, Hypertech tuners, and dyno tunes- the technology keeps getting better- who would have thought? 400 HP, perfectly streetable, idles, passes emissions, and gets 26 MPG on the highway-

Yeah ok so the guy said 385 HP, big deal. He didn't know you drove an SS and he was just talkin. No offense, but I think the problem is with guys like you. You think because you drive an SS or TA and you know a few things about mods, that you are the shit. Just out of curiosity, how old are you?

well my .02...
people try to feed me a lot of BS about my own car...
I had an argument about how headers would hurt the performance of my car.. and its my damn uncle .. who has had a bird, goat, and a torino. He based his info off his friend in his 79 TA who had problems with the car after his header install in the early 80s...
He was trying to blow off my car as nothing. I threw the keys at him and asked him if he was scared to drive it... apparently he is. Just because it isnt a giant gashog iron blocked beast getting 12 mpg doesnt mean it is slow.
Everyone pulls this bs on me. My v8 lincoln town car ls is faster.. .blah blah blah..
A lot of that bs stops when I make them jump in the passenger seat and dont let off the gas to the triple digits.
We need more father figures that make you do this!!!
BTW this engine still runs in the 79 c10 !Last edited by JoshieDoom; 06-03-2008 at 10:48 PM.

Yeah I had some know-all goose challenge me one day and i said to him I used to prepare race car engines!
"I regularly used a 'bastard' file to port and polish the heads and did all my 'line-boring with a brace and bit!!"
Most of the dills give you a bewildered look and give you a wide berth!!

Not saying anything bad about old men or people in general just this one old man. Trying to feed me his bull shit, when I told him that his car shouldn't be putting down that much HP his reaction was like you wouldn't know, thats when I had to tell him that I did know. I can't wait to see him at work, I'm just gonna give him a big smile with a thumbs up.

That's exactly it, Since I drive a SS I know a few things about LS1's so you can't tell me shiii that don't sound right, add up, or make any sense. Maybe your one of the guys that's bluffed about what you've had and got put in your place, maybe that's why guys like myself are a problem for you. If I wanted to let everyone know how old I was I would've posted that info under my screen name. Why does that matter anyway?
