OMG..an actual fast import...I don't believe it(sarcasim)!or maybe the civic is built? they have full boost around 3k...I don't see what is wrong with that.

It sucks that all the gay retarded ricers with stock cars point to this as a great event in their lives. All STS Turbos do is make a turbo LS1 seem slow.

I don't think that it is the camaro being slow so much as that being a fucking fast civic. I'm guessing it is someone that put way too much money into a Honda. I wonder why they didn't run from a dig????

I'm not an "import" fan at all.........BUT, why is it so hard to believe there are indeed fast imports out there? Would your car beat that STS Turboed Camaro?

Nope, but I wouldn't spend that much on a piece like that. A cam install and 150 shot would have been much faster AND cheaper. Now we have some punk in a civic who thinks he is god and probably has 1000s of worshippers.

What does a cam install gain? 50 horsepower? (approx?) And then the 150 shot....so, okay, that goes with saying that 325 hp from the factory for the Camaro is underrated, and it's closer to 350.....so 550 hp at the flywheel, or about 460 to the wheels.......that's probably not faster than 505 to the wheels of that STS Camaro..(if the video was true)....but, that's just my logic............

and as far as the "punk"....I wouldn't know, I can't say without ever meeting him and have no reason to believe he thinks he's a god.........the only thing I do know, it that it takes all different kinds of people to make the world go around....and it would really suck if everyone liked the same things.

First of all, many guys are making 400rwhp on cammed cars (including headers, exhaust, tune, etc) so I think over 500rwhp without any god awful boost lag would own that STS setup. I guess I got all pissed off because of all the rice-tastic comments I read about that video. Yeah, yeah, you can make any piece of shit fast, just look at this video:

who knows..that civic could have been stripped down..and a striped down civic with 350-400 whp...which is very do able would easily walk a 500hp ls1....weight means everything. a striped civic can weigh in at 2200lbs...that camaro probably weighed around 3500.even if the civic wasn't striped..it probably still weighed around 2500-2800 lbs. still way less that the ls1...not to mention..if the guy is a hell fo a driver. I'm not makign excuses for either drive, i'm just sticking up fro the sts system cause some people seem to think it doesn't work.

I'm sure with the turbo being so far from the engine that the boost lag is tremendous. Like blitzed said, they might still make some good dyno numbers under boost, but I doubt they make good power at low rpms.

I can say that I have heard many people that have never driven an STS system say that it has tons of turbo lag but I have never heard of anyone that has the STS turbo system confirming this. In fact, the kit receives nothing but praise from it's owners...

exactly...only time you hear about a sts system laggin is from the nay sayers... the system has been around for 2 years and peopel are still acting loike its brand new and untested. there are sts systems in the 9s on a vette...and a couple of gtos running 10s.

Some dyno sheets there, before and after. I still think the "traditional" turbos are infinitely better, most of the LS1s with those produce far more than 500rwhp.

first you claim it most be insanely laggy..now its not producing enough power.

most base kits for a ls1 at 5psi put down 400-420 whp. without the "tremedous" lag that you claim.
