    Question Stripe removal

I have a 1996 mustang that has the lower stripes on the body that say mustang I am having a fender replaced and wonder if the stripes can be removed without damaging the 11 year old mint paint?

You wil have to try a 'test strip' to see if there will be damage to the old paint.

You can likely get them off with a hair dryer, but 11 year old paint, I'm guessing that the paint will be slightly faded, even if it doesn't appear that way, the paint under the stripe may be darker. You may be putting the stripe right back on, or a different stripe that you like better.
Always heat it (gently)& peal it back, don't pull it away from the car.
    good luck

if the paint is faded buy yourself a Porter Cable 7424 buffer ($100) and some good polish and i bet youd be surprised at the outcome. id get some goo gone and a hair dryer then follow w/a polish. its going to be hard to spot test since if you peel it off you wont be sticking it back on. good luck
