stereo stolen!

I live in an apartments and i while doing my cam swap in my 5.slow a lady walks up to me and asks me if there was anything missing from my car and i say i dont think so but when i go inside my car to check i realize my stereo was gone I tell her yeah my stereo is gone and she says that she saw one of the maintenece guys (bald head and kind of fat) picking up trash in the middle of the night with and bucket. He opened my passenger door and ripped out my stereo and put it in his little bucket and proceeded to walk off! I remember talking to the guy once when i was installing my stereo and he was asking me what kind of stereo and speakers i was putting in etc. i told him it was just a cheap system because i didnt want it to get stolen (kenwood with a removable faceplate) He says that he has been living here for a year and never got anything stolen from my truck. I was pissed when i realized it was the same guy so i confronted him once and said:
ME: hey man when do you think i can get my fucking stereo back!
HIM: me no speaky english!

ME: BULLSHIT! I've had a full conversation with you before in english! ( i know spanish so i told him everything that the lady told me and how she saw him steal it in spanish)
HIM: no i didnt steal anything and he told me to tell the office because he knows for sure he didnt steal it.

I dont want to tell the office because i dont want him getting fired and then doing something to my parents cars or mine since he knows what we drive. I've seen him driving around before in his explorer so i just wanted to wait till we move out and pour sugar down his gas tank!

Anyone have any better ideas?

or should i do the right thing and tell the office getting him fired but risking our cars get keyed?

either way i'm probaly not going to get the stereo back.

I'm sure i still wont get my stereo back and honestly i dont care much about the stereo it was free and nothing fancy but it just pisses me off how people steal shit from others.

You have a independent witness dude...call the cops. Get the police report, your receipt and bring him to small claims...after you get his thief ass fired first. Make sure the witness is there.

i tell you what. go buy a nice new stereo.. real flashy, brag about it and make sure he knows about it. let him take the bait. keep an eye on him.. watch where he goes b/c he'll go to a place where no one is b/c he just done somthing illegal..

yeah i got a laugh out of that one, i had a friend with me at the time and he didnt even get off the car(so called friend)when i confronted him. keep in mind that i'm a teenage punk kid that is 5'7 125 pounds and the thief is in his mid 20's (at least)and around 200 pounds

i know where he lives and what he drives but my parents are looking into buying a house so i want to wait till we move out and then do something.
