I'm not going to buy blue ray (I don't have one but I have an upscaling DVD player

)

I'll be buying the set very shortly

Its the altered version. This was announced a few weeks ago and the preorders started on amazon at the same time. One of the biggest gripes so far is that they are not gonna include the unaltered versions. George Lucas loves the altered versions and only included the unaltered versions in the original dvd release for all the hardcore star wars fanatics. This time so far he isnt budging.

I've never been happy with my bluray. I do like the DVD upconvert part but the bluray but, its more of a pain in the ass more than anything. I've done all the firmware updates and still have problems getting some of the newer blu's to work.

I will never get blu ray now that I have the upconvert. I'd have to re-buy about 200 movies

I won't replace all my dvds with blurays, that would cost me thousands of dollars and be utterly stupid. Now, I do have 20 movies, favorites of mine that I have bought in bluray and have a few more planned but that is where I draw the line. Most of those 20 blurays I got on sale as well, hell I managed to get Transformers 1 on bluray for $6

I will say this though, never ever buy another DVD player, that is a waste. Bluray players will play blurays and all your DVDs. A DVD player does not give you that option. Bluray players are getting pretty cheap too.

My upscale DVD player with 600 watt subwoofer/6 speaker sound system from Sony was $200

I can find deals

I love the way movies look upscaled, I think it does 720i instead of 480i
