Don't spoil it for anyone... hope to go sometime this week with my brother. It's nice having the new movie out as they are playing the crap out of the other movies on TV. Actually just caught 'Nemesis' for the first time Friday night and thought that was pretty good. 'Wrath of Khan' and 'Generations' are still at the top of my list, with 'Nemesis' being right up there too.
My wife picks on me endlessly for having an affinity for these movies. She laughed her ass off the first time she heard the line in Weird Al's 'White & Nerdy' -- "The only question that I ever thought was hard, was do I like Kirk or do I like Picard?"

Bright Red- 1999 Trans Am Ws6
I hated it...HATED IT.
***sorta plot spoiler alerts, not really, but read at own risk***
They used the time travel paradox as an excuse to completley throw out all relevant ORIGINAL episode history. Sure it made it so nerds like me couldn't point out continuity errors, but it pissed me off.
And spocks gf...wtf vulcans only mate once every seven years, and they show no emotion, spock controls his human side, damnit that was wrong.
Kirk with a green alien woman, wtf, seriously. SUBTLTY YOU MOTHER FUCKERS.
That and it was practically a comedy. Scotty was a joke, they had the wrong guy for bones. Definitley not the best star trek movie. And that's not what a romulan looks like!!
Leonard should be ashamed for making an appearance in it. Oh, and the preview for the newest transformers movie. MY FUCKING GOD. It was successful, don't beat it into the ground.
I was just really pissed the entire time I was there. Maybe the 3.50 for a fucking medium fountain pop had something to do with that. Fucking ripoff cock sucking movie theater nazis.

Black- 383 Procharged & N20 Vert
It was great in IMAX.
Usher come out and said they have had many requests to turn down the sound.
"We just upgraded the sound system and will not be turning the sound down"
The whole audience cheered.

Edwards Mira Mesa. I forgot they said there were 96 speakers behind the screen.
Great seats that reclined. Plenty of leg room. They even brought in a mobil snack bar right in front of the screen.
I don't think I could ever go back to the regular theaters.
The movie was over 2 hours and it still left me wanting more.

Heh, heh. This was genius, pure business genius. Now we can start over with a whole new series of sequels and maybe even a new TV series.
The bridge and interior of the new Enterprise bore little resemblance to the original, so what? It's only 40 years later (real time). Entertainment technology has changed a bit over that interval.
Yeah, that kind of "raised" my eyebrows as well.
Apparently you missed the original "Star Trek" pilot, "The Cage," later stretched into a two part episode, "The Menagerie."
It's supposed to be witty! I enjoyed that part very much. I thought Bones and Scottie were spot on.
I thought that part was tasteful, and well done.
Sorry, dide, that's a done deal. You don't have to go see it, you know.
I always eat before I go to a theater. The theater makes its money from the concession stand, not admissions. I also make it a point not to drink much before a movie, I hate having to get up to use the head.

I have seen the pilot and the two part version as well. I love the buttheads. That's what I call them cause of the huge crack. And depending wich version you watch...the one WASN'T william shatner.
That little fucking troll with scotty made me want to tear the screen down.
The one thing I really liked was the Kobiashi Maroo, as they mentioned it several times on the original series and I always kind of wondered what kind of situation it was.

I liked it a lot, but it didn't quite "Blow me away".
The last time I left a movie feeling really blown away was the first Matrix.
Wow, 10 years ago

Ed any ideas on the wattage of your imax? When I saw spiderman in imax I asked and they said it was 10,000 watts of digital surround sound. I was wondering ours has a shitty sound system. Plus our screen is seven stories wide and six stories tall. I remember the crew they hired to install it accidentally tore it from end to end and had to foot the bill for a new one. OUCH

Took the little dictator to see over the weekend. She is a trekkie, loves this Star Trek stuff. The series, movies all of them. I can take it, mostly leave it, but this movie rocked. Fast paced, lots of action and comedy. Can't give it a ten though. Not enough eye candy for me...
