This guy at work has been itching to drag race me for a while, but refuses to take it to the strip. I've got way to much to lose if I get caught on the streets so I say no but he is really getting on my nerves with his lies.

He has a Shelby GT stang, not a 500, kr, 350, just the shelby gt. BONE stock, only thing he has done is added nitrous but never used it. He tells me it with do a 9.5 second quarter mile but he doesn't have a roll cage so they won't let him do it, he said it will go faster than 12 on engine alone. MY GOD. Then he went on how he is going to get it to more than 1000hp.

This is for a 2008 GT. All the articles for 2009 seem to be about the GT500.

The real nitty-gritty of the Shelby GT, of course, is what’s beneath its hood. The 2008 Shelby GT features a 4.6-liter V8 engine capable of cranking out 319 hp and 330 lb.-ft. of torque. It also features a high-flow exhaust system with an X-pipe crossover and dual exhaust tips to match. This set up offers improved power delivery accompanied by a deep, and seriously menacing, exhaust tone.

319/330 is hardly a 9.5 sec car, regardless of how much spray you put on it. I've seen them go high 12's with a little work.

IMO, 09 Shelby GT...STOCK motor with CAI and exhaust...nothing more...Oh...and STRIPES.

BULLITTS are the same way. I have seen both on the streets...and...meh.

Haha It's a 9.5 car that he's never taken to the track because they "wont let him run!" You run your time, and if you go too fast they make you stop and adhere to proper safety rules What a toolbag! Smoke that douche and get it on video. I was at the track last summer and this termi comes screamin down the track, slams on his brakes at the 1000ft mark, and ran something like an 11.70 @ 138mph and he ran a few more times that night...

I will say that the shelby models look pretty schweet though...
