    Springfield XD or Glock

Let me hear your feedback on these guns. I'll prob get a .45 cal in either one. I really like the green and black and the green and tan XD's but don't know too much about them except what I have read on the net. My dad has a Glock 22 in .40 and has never had a problem with it and he has had it since like 92.

    Had a XD 40 now have a glock 17.
I like the glock better. I shoot it better.
But the XD is a nice gun +1 for the grip safety.

i have a XD .40 and an H&K .45. You cannot go wrong with the XD series, plus i agree, the safeties are so much better on the XD than Glock. i mean there is a video that shows a 'professional' shooting himself in the foot with a glock infront of a bunch of kids...lol

I own a few XDs and a few glocks. I prefer the XD 9 tact over the Glock 17 for competition. The only reason being I was more accurate with the XD in that caliber. Both are excellant guns. I still carry a full size Glock 20 in the winter so I still like the Glocks also. Either brand will serve you well.

You Yanks with the CP are so lucky.

For us Canucks to even go to a competition we need special permits with restricted movements, etc.

Never shot a XD (not sure if they are legal here but I always liked the Glocks.

    Real fine gun imo.

i personally like a pistol with a little weight behind it which is neither if going for a .45 ill take a 1911. a 9 id go with my dad's beretta. I absolutely hate the feel of a glock just opinion i will agree that they are great guns. I have never had much experience with an xd it's personal choice, go see how each feels and if you can find a firing range that has in house pistols try em out

I think that I'll go with the XD over the Glock. Prob a .40 or .45 not sure yet if it'll be the 4" or 5" but it won't be the tactical model, just don't like the way they look and it'll be in the Desert Brown if I can get it and if not it'll be the OD green. Thanks for all your support.

the 5 " is the tactical.

90% of the people I have talked to that shoot IDPA shoots use GLOCKS.
there is a reason for this.

.357 sig is far superior to any other synth pistol sound available. I'd go ported too... springfield grip saftey is nice and soft, barely notice it, also has a little more style to it and the loaded chamber indicator on the rear of the slide is a GREAT feature, but I love my glock!

lol.....because the class rules are set up for them. How about IPSC? Each class has a specific kind of firearm the rules seem to cater to.

You are probably the first person I've ever seen say anything good about a Beretta M92 series handgun.

I don't like Glocks and I do like the XD pistols. They're great guns.

Don't get a stainless model. They've been known to corrode because of a batch of bad steel.

Don't get a ported model unless you plan on only using the pistol for competition. If you have to discharge the weapon in close quarters with the pistol anywhere near your body, you'll get a nice blast of hot gas in your face. Personally, I like to be able to see what I'm shooting at.

The XD is really just a Croatian built Glock copy. So if you like those kinds of guns take that into consideration.

thats all bs with the see what i'm shooting thing, it doesnt make enough light slow enough to it to even effect night vision...sure about the hot gas if you are shooting next to your face but then you just have no idea how to be shooting in a situation otherwise, and the last thing youll care about is having hot air blowing on you if you are discharging a weapon in such a close situation... which the chances of happened in 1 in the millions anyway not to mention youd barely be able to hit a cow at 10 yards shooting like that let alone a person running around in a panic wielding a knife or whatever.
