    Spark Plug Changes

Okay.. I want all of you to post up your "tricks" and "secrets" to the #8 plug. What helps you get it done faster? Because..it got done this weekend, and my god.. that sucked. I had help (thanks Erick and Scott) with all the maintenance. There's no way I could have changed those plugs myself thanks to the passenger side. Me::GM So.. what do you do to get it done faster/easier?

drop the enine out and put it on a motor mount... that should make the plug change easy...

There has GOT to be someone with like a "trick" or something they know. That thing is ridiculous.

I do believe the issue is that the socket is too long. The 'trick' is to cut the socket in half with a band saw and turn it on the end with a cresent wrench. (as long as you make sure to cut a socket that has a 'box end' on it)

Get long tube headers, two jack stands, a jack, and a plug socket and ratchet. Takes me like 5 min to remove and reinstall the plug

8 was easy with my Mac headers. Haven't tried it with my long tubes yet. I have more trouble getting the plug wires off cause I always leave the stock heatshields on.

On a serious note, removing the coil packets and valve cover frees up a lot of room. I only leave 2 bolts on my passenger side coil packet, so I can remove it and the valve cover in a couple of minutes

I used the normal socket, a swivel and extensions. 8 was EASY.
6 is a biotch 'cause I got it from above, after removing the coil bracket.
