    some prelude owner has something to talk about

    i was out playing around and was in a double turning lane with a prelude... light turns green im on the inside... i get her striaghtened up... give her a lil gas... and shift to third...

    well about 100 yards down the road i hear a loud... ummm best way to describe it is... braaaaeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuzzzzzzz... i see him comming up fast and b4 i can figure out what gear i need to hit he blows up on my door... i find 1st... hammer down and start to gain momentum... about that time i here waaaaa waaaa waaa waaaa.... DAMN IT!!! rev limiter... that damn thing was sooooooooo loud i couldnt hear the vette breathing through the corsas.... so i finally find 2nd, but by then he was letting off thinking he had done something...

    about the time i get beside him to leak some of the fluids from his big head he turned into a parking lot...

    moral of the story... i need a shift light...

    .............Or practice shifting more? It'll save you a couple hundred.

    Ouch... 3rd to 1st!? Shift light wont help miss shifts. Better check them push rods.

    Yea... thats what I was wondering. He said he gave it a little gas and shifted 3rd. So I'm guessing around 35-40mph? I'd never down shit to 1st gear from a roll, period.

    I did go 6th to 2nd once at 80mph... was aiming for 4th! Bent 4 push rods. I was lucky that was it.

    i wasnt rolling (i had let up since i didnt think he was gonna try and i was actually about to hit second since i had to slow down for a truck that was gettign int he turning lane) but maybe low 20's (soo second really wouldnt have jumped on it)... tried my best to match rpms... and i didnt bump the limiter till what like 45 or 50... not really sure... had i been looking at the hud i would have noticed the tach...

    and yes i do need more practice... especially since my clutch feels like its either on or off, which makes hills a bit of a challenge... especially when dumb asses in mercades like to try pin a peice of paper between my car and theirs...

    oh that brings me to point... can you really drive like cags wants you to? when im just barely going it tells me to shift to 4th... then i wind her up about 1500 more just to go to third... can you really hit 4th at like 7 miles an hour?

    i think it has it already... but the light still comes on... but it always comes on at like 2500 rpms in first gear... and goes off at like 3 grand... and tells me to shift to 4th...

    I shoved it into first at about 40 before. I'll never do it again, it seemed like it was really tough on the drivetrain.
