As an Architect, the LEED one is absolutely true. We have (2) LEED NC projects in Austin, TX and it's all paper pushing, local politics, and "hey look at me" bragging rights...

Fuck the look-at-me smugness personifying, silent pedestrian killing, on-ramp clogging, overgrown Dustbuster styling, nowhere-near-the-rated-mileage-getting douche magnet parked in front of your 7,000 square foot “starter mansion” with the radiant floor heating and the basement wine bar.

You cant hardly find a Prius where I live that isn't sporting an Obama sticker. Or all the other typical stickers you'd find on them, many listed in your link. lol
