    Smart ppl inside

Ok so i gotta answer this math assignment. Apparently a guy threw a frog in a well and the frog climbs 3ft during the day but falls back 2ft during night. How long will it take him to climb out of the 20ft well. OH and by the way the answer is not 20!

perhaps that particular frog can't climb...therefore it actually can't climb out.

I think it's just after the 18th day..........since the cat has already climbed out, and doesn't have to worry about falling at night since it's already out.

so, 18 or 18 1/2, depending on how you look at it

That would have no bearing on this scenario 3 feet is 3 feet, and 2 feet is 2 feet no matter how you look at it.

The answer is 18 because on the 18th day he would make it to the 20 foot mark with out having to go back down 2 feet.

It isn't 17 because the cat would only be at the 20 foot mark, wouldn't you need to go past 20 feet in order to climb out?
