    Sludge in motor?

lol I bet u sarge is gonna jump all over this......

I changed my oil today after my car had been sitting around broke down for over a year....and when i pulled the oil plug out there was some REALLY thick oil on the tip of it where it goes inside the motor......it was as thick as axle grease......really nasty stuff

    That is oil sludge right?

    If so....any suggestions?
Its a low miliage motor...just hit 50,000 miles.....and the whole valvetrain besides rockers had been upgraded 10,000 miles ago.....

Do the Sea Foam treatment, there is a really nice write up on it on tech. I'll see if I can find it.

also, after the treatment when you change the oil, before putting the plug back in run through a quart of cheap oil to get everything out and make sure to change the oil while the car is still hot.

Only if you let it sit too long, I put about half a can in my car, ran it for ~100 miles afterwards and drained it as soon as I got back. My car had 150,000 on it. Just don't let it sit!!

Most engine treatments are not recomended for motors above 100 thousand but at 50,000 you should be fine. There are also a number of other oil additives that you could use and follow the same process with but they cost more and not much of a point to it.
