I was reading a piece about the simpsons the other day and they said a movie would be made, but not until the series is over. Which isn't going to be anytime soon.

the simpsons jus got renewed for 2 yrs. so no its not ending soon. as far as the movie goes i hear this summer. and it will be in cartoon form but way more controversial then the tv show. i cant wait for this movie. i still love the simpsons, its one of the greatest tv shows of all time, cartoon or not. even with it not being as funny in recent years.

Of course in recent years the show is down, its been on for 18 years! With an R rating they can really do some new things though, even thought the show has pushed the limits more and more as time goes on.

Should be interesting that's for sure. Though, if they REALLY push the bounds in the movie I think it will lose alot of appeal. To me the Simpsons were great because the pushed the bounds, but knew when to stop. It's one of the reasons I kept watching it, and stopped watching South Park, they just didn't know when to stop. Nor did they care. The simpsons seemed like they at least had SOME morals.

I never liked the simpsons. SouthPark and Family Guy are great though.

They wouldn't even exist without the Simspons.

No animated show, simpsons included, would have never existed without Beavis and Butthead.

    Mike Judge started it all....

Beavis and Butthead came several years after The Simpsons. They got their own show on Fox in 1988. Beavis and Butthead started in 92 or 93.

If you really want to get technical though, the Flintstones was the first adult cartoon show

Yeah, but they weren't edgy and didn't push the limits of what is acceptable on television like The Simpsons did from day 1.
