Shelby and Ford to produce GT500 Super Snake coupes
The Shelby GT500 Super Snake coupe will come standard with a Ford Racing Supercharger on its 5.4L V8 that bumps the Mustang's already prodigious power numbers up to 600 horsepower. While that engine will come with a full factory-backed warranty, there will reportedly be other engine options that include a 725-horsepower motor that comes without the blessing of the factory (no warranty). Other mods include a Ford Racing Handling Pack that adds adjustable dampers, lower springs, bigger stabilizer bars and a front strut tower brace. The brakes are of course bigger and fit snuggly behind a set of Shelby-designed Alcoa 20-inch wheels.
I'll believe it when I see it. 725hp would be impressive if they can reduce some weight.

That car would be a beast on the track with the adjustable dampers, lower springs, bigger stabilizer bars and a front strut tower brace even with the 600hp with full warranty.
Ford is really backing some serious hardware with this project....

i don't know, all these crazy horsepower numbers are getting out of control IMO. everyone is gonna be coming out with 600hp cars in 3 years and our poor fbodies are gonna be the tempos of the sports car world with 340

The exact numbers on Muscle Mustangs and fast fords Kenne Bell blown gt500 are 793 rwhp and 737 lbs of torque. Doesnt sound to torque deficient to me?

WHy is the sky blue? I dont know why auto manufacturers do what they do. Why does the viper need 10 cyls? Why does the new blue devil need a s/c to compete with the viper? None of these manufacturers are releasing cars that clearly and concisely state exactly what it is they are tryin to do right now. They jus produce cars. Fuck it, if Ford wants to release 540 horse gt500s, 600 horse gt500s etc. I think thats damn cool. Count me as a guy that doesnt have a hang up about superchargers. I like big horsepower v8s. PERIOD. Saleen jus released a n/a mustang with 400 horsepower in the name of the parnelli jones addition. This is a 5.0 liter modular engine. So the lowly modular engine that you guys love to rag on jus made 400 horses out of only 5.0 liters. Im in no way knocking gm, i love the ls series. But lets call spades spades here. Might as well state whats true and what isnt. The new camaro if it does actually ever come out is not gonna be as aerodynamic as the 4th gen. It has a very similar shape to the current mustang. Is this GM trying to capitolize on Fords discovery that the retromodern thing worked for them?

Because its 4k lbs. FOR THE 500th time its not supposed to compete with a vette and a viper. The dyno tests are proving that the Cobras routinely put out more then they are rated at. Yes it has 480 crank tq figures stock. The new gt500s are dynoing 440rwhp and a 430 lbs of torque routinely. Who gives a fuck how it compares to the vette and viper, the fact of the matter is it is making more then Ford lists as crank figures engine wise. I dont dispute that its a heavy pig. It is. But guess what, its a pony car. I have absolutely no idea where you get these figures for Ford gt500's from, other then jus making shit up.
