That is a bunch of BS.... It's sad when you see some of the teachers that are teaching the youth today.

i see both sides of the story and have to lean more for the schools judgement... they have a dress code and enforced it... if anything they shouldn't have even had a "seahawks" shirt day and kept to their dress code...

I agree the kid isn't without fault but the school overreacted, a lot. Dress codes are one thing but if you allow students to wear football gear from one team and not the other that is just stupid. Dress codes that stop blatantly offensive material and gang attire from disrupting classes are one thing but damn its a football jersey.

school administrators sent Grendon Bailie home, saying his choice of clothing was inappropriate - and that Seahawks shirts or colors were the only exception allowed outside the uniform school's normal strict dress code.
    That's bullshit! And discriminatory.

    Go Steelers!!

It was Seahawk appreciation day at a school with a strict dress code otherwise. Not team appreciation day. I side with the school on this one, sorry. With that said, I personally agree with Spaz. They shouldn't have even had a Seahawk appreciation day to begin with.

kid and his parents both need their ass' whipped. It was pretty clear prior to that day that ONLY seahawks stuff would be allowed and he did it anyhow. You want to wear steelers stuff to school? Then move your ass to pittsburgh. Oh....it's not fair. Right. Move your ass to pittsburgh.

Also, and I may have missed it. But is this a public or private school? If they have a strict dress code, I'm guessing it's a private school?

You don't have to live in Pittsburgh to be a die hard Steelers fan We're everywhere...

While I agree that he shouldn't have chosen to wear the jersey, I still say that the school shouldn't have singled out just the local NFL team to 'celebrate' and not allow any other colors to be worn.

Hey, some people are serious about their football

they're in WA.....it's not an NFL appreciation day. They're celebrating their team...not some yahoo that wants to be different. Very very poor taste on his and his parents behalf. If you want to be a die hard fan that's fine but be a die hard fan and not an obnoxious one. This was being obnoxious.

Gee, I don't know. Growing up we never had a Rams appreciation day when I was in school I say it's discrimination and the ACLU needs to get right on it

oh yeah, the hippie equal rights people will be all over this. When I was in school I would've dared someone to pull this stunt. His ass would've been beat by lunch time.

The Seahawks suck and I live in Washington. There is a LOT of military in this area so there aren't as many Seahawks fans here as there are in Seattle.

doesn't matter....let pittsburgh have a steelers appreciation day and let some jackass show up in a seahawks ( or any team for that matter) jersey. It wouldn't be a bleeding heart article on the kid....it'd be an obituary.
