Senior Trip Ideas
Me and a few friends are planning a Sr. trip for about 1/3 of our class (~25 people.. small school) and we're thinking about a tour of one half of the US.. more than likely the East... we're taking three conversion vans (the ones with the TVs and all that stuff) but staying it hotels/motels.. Our school has a fairly big fund raiser for our trip so thats why we're doing this (we'll still have to pay some), we figured instead of going to Cancun we'd see our own country... So I was wondering, what are hot points that we should hit??? we're thinking about staring up around NYC and going down from there, any ideas would be awesome!

School's paying for it, cant be to naughty... we'd have to pay for the Alcohol, Titty Bars, and all that stuff with our own money... School pays for gas, hotel, and some food.. other than that.. we're on our own
Note: there will be girls with us as well.. because our school is so small we've kind of developed a tight relationship between a lot of the Sr. class.. so we cant titty bar it every night.. lol

i think seeing the US is a cool idea, BUT i also think u should consider europe, thats the trip of a LIFETIME, NYC u can seriously go to any weekend *ok im from philly so maybe its alittle easier for me to get to the city but u could make a weekend out of it living in IL* if u want the trip to be something u'll never forget go over seas
no offense but taking the US route also seems kinda boring, are u gonna go to all the historical sites? you've got the rest of ur life to be boring lol... id party my ass off in Italy, Spain, France... then come home and travel around the US when im 50 with grandkids..

If you're thinking about touring the US, consider going out West. Arizona, Utah, New Mexico...all are amazing. Anyone who thinks seeing the US would be boring hasn't hiked down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back up, toured Bryce and Zion Canyons or been to Vegas, etc.
On the other hand, if you stay in the East, check out the south...Savannah and Charleston are beautiful cities.

let me throw in the tourist perspective:
northeast:
go to canada, my favs are toronto (awesome city, really! party and culture with an almost european touch), kingston (ontario), the niagara falls are great + enough bars and tacky fun stuff esp. on the canadian side.
southeast:
+2 on savannah and charleston, and there are beaches down there as well. short drive to st. augustine, fl: oldest city in the usa. (+ shopping, beaches, bars)
europe is far too expensive for you guys at the moment!

Niagara Falls is a blast, especially on the canadian side. And try to get to toronto, too. It's a great city for tourists. Might not be U.S., but it's a damn nice place to be. U.S. Niagara Falls isn't bad, either. Pretty fun to go there.
I would suggest St. Augustine in Florida, Cleveland, NYC, Philly, Boston, Mertle Beach SC, and I know it's not really "East" but try New Orleans, too.

lol .. we did talk about the idea of going over seas but then we'd have to pay for passports and all that stuff (school wont do it) plus plane tickets and all that.. the school does have a limit.. so we just decided to tour the US as a group and enjoy our last summer together.. i like the ideas coming so far.. keep em comin
Matt
This is our list so far... 2 days in each place
North to Chicago
Then to Detroit
Over to Cleavland
Over to NYC
Down to Philly
Down to Virginia Beach
then we're lost...
Probably Atlanta
Then Florida for the last week
That's the three weeks of hotels/gas that our school will pay for

Cleveland's great, you'll have fun there. Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame is a nice thing to go see...
Try to swing by Niagara Falls on the way to NYC. Trip would only be a few hour stop, and trust me, it's quite a sight. ESPECIALLY in the summer. If you're there at night, the falls are lit by lights that are under them, it's an amazing sight. Really nice to see.
