secrets of the companies we used to work for
What kinds of tricks/scams/secrets do companies use on consumers? Post up if you know any, dont have to be a former employee.I was on another board and i personally cant think of any but here are a few that are pretty interesting:
Again, these are not mine, just posted from another board for example:
--- "I worked for a Kroger in which quite literally all of the adults working above me were either cheating on their spouses with other employees (And knocking them up) or stealing lots and lots of money from the store.
They sent in the "big guns" to take care of all the theft. They yelled and screamed at people, fired 15 or 16 of them and made a couple of them cry."
--"while i never worked at BK or mcdonalds, if you ask for unsalted french fries, you get a fresh batch out of the fryer and not the ones sitting under the heat lamp all day that taste like shit.
you can then put your own amount of salt on your fresh french fries.
edit: obviously you'll have to wait longer to get your fries."
--" if bill collectors are calling you write a letter to cease and desist. If they contact you again you can sue them. Also if they tell another person ANYTHING without your permission, even the name of their company, you can sue them too. Collections is the bad."
--"The coca cola concentrate is so powerfull that I once spilled some of it on the linolium tiles, and it dissolved a thin layer of it."
--Wal-Mart
"Bitch about anything, you'll probably get your way.
No, don't steal shit from here, we actually have secret shoppers, people who don't look like they work at Wal-Mart walking around to catch you stealing shit, and yes, they do catch people. Frequently.
Yes, most Wal-Mart employees are fucking retarded. I kinda suspected this, then got a job there, and it's very, very true. They're fucking stupider than shit.
Specific to walmart Tire and Lube:
No, we don't check your differential/transfer case fluids, or manual transmission fluid. Yes, I know, the sign says we do.
No, 90% of us don't use torque sticks.
Yes, you can get a free new motor if you run it to death, have us change the oil, and it blows up.
No, don't buy Douglas Xtra-Trac A/W tires. They suck shit and blow out all the time.
If you've had your oil changed at WM before, then do your own oil change, you just have to smear blue torque-seal on your oil filter and drain plug. We'll think we were the last ones to do it if you have any problems that you can blame us for.
If you have any European car more rare than a Jetta, we don't have your oil filter, don't even try.
We aren't allowed to take tips. We will anyway, and you will get far better service if you do tip. Just be discreet."

I used to work in retail as a whse.Mgr. and loss prevention had me cut some slits in a empty treadmill box (display model) so he could watch my whse.staff to catch them stealing. Did'nt work. He also held monthly meetings and would have a stack of vhs tapes on the counter and would say " I have videos of certain employees stealing and if they wanted to avoid prosecution, they would not return to the store from then on". And believe it or not, some never showed again. The videos had no evidence.

When I worked at Pizza Hut when I was younger my manager used to shape the pizza dough into a pussy and fuck it. Talk about "Meat Lovers Pizza", he really meant it when you ordered one.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
My boss is notorious for taking clients out to dinner, paying for it, then when we send them their bill for whatever we're working on, he'll hide the cost of the dinner by billing additional time to them. Fucking genious if you ask me!

when I worked at Walmart a friend of mine that worked in the electronics department told me that some one return a tv box with bricks in it. The person who refunded there money didn't even check the box. They didn't realize it until they were shipping it back to the manufacturer for warranty work.
F'n crazy
