Screw people that screw other people!!!!
So I just went out to replace my window motor. I bought a window motor from someone on the board (a long time ago) to replace my window motor. Supposedly they were parting theirs out and it worked when the car got messed up. Okay, good deal.
Went out to put it in today and just like the original, it doesn't work. Now, before you go saying it's probably not the motor if both of them are out, I actually tied both of the motors directly to the battery with no response from either motor. It's not the wiring, or the switch or anything else if none of that is involved. It's just two wires, a battery and an electric motor. Not much can go wrong there.
Oh well, nothing to do about it now. It was actually on the old board and I have no idea who it was.

my window motor went out last summer... that is one thing i would not buy used, they are so prone to wearing out that if you buy a used one it will likely crap out on you before too long.
but it sux that you got screwed in the deal.. i too hate people who screw others around

I found them online from a parts store for $19.95 all the way up to $39.95 depending on what quality you want. I'm gonna try a local parts store and see if I can get close to that price here, if not, I'll buy there for sure. I think from GM they're lyke $150

in most cases you get what you pay for.
i know GM is a rip off... but i dont think i would trust a part that cost 20-40 dollars over one that is 150
just my 0.02 tho

Custom Slate Blue- 99 B4C
the aftermarket ones are MUCH better than the pricy GM part. HINT: autozones offer a lifetime warranty

Just picked up a life time warranty new window motor. Got it for $60 through a shop discount, regular retail on it was just over $100.
Got it installed, works like a charm.
Thank goodness for neighbors with hook ups and most of the right tools.

Black- 1998 Camaro Z28
just remember to keep it lubed with silicone lubricant.
Use the red tube thingie that comes with the can and spray down into the channels at both ends of the window.
there used to be a window lubricant thread on here but I doubt it's around any more.
At least you had a happy ending with your motor...
