RPM vs SPEED
Ok I know what gear i was told was in my car when I bought it but does this look right. It is supposed to be a 3.73 gear hear is a pic at abought 71 mph. my car is a m6 and its in 6th gear on a flat section of road with the cruise set. Irealy don't want to take the cover off any suggestions or ideas?

Dude, you've got me wondering now.. I've got an m6 too, but I think I'm around 2000 at 70mph.. I'll have to try this weekend to see for sure what I am at @ 70mph.

Stock as far as I know, wasn't mentioned when I bought the car, got it at a dealership in FL over the summer. Exhaust seems different too, but have no idea what it is other than it isn't TDs and doesn't sound like stock exhaust I hear on two other WS6's in town (one of which I know for certain is stock because I know the guy), mine's louder. *shrug*

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
FWIW: A4 w/3.73 in OD is 75 mph @ 2500rpm. 6th in an M6 (.5:1) is even lower than 4th (.67:1? or is it .7:1) in an auto. Your mph vs rpm seems right to me.

Just came back from my test drive!
70 mph = 1600 rpm for me. Was wrong about 2000, but still happy.
God it's cold outside, btw..

www.f-body.org/gears
3.42's = 71MPH at 1600
3.73's = 71MPH at 1720
4.10's = 71MPH at 1900
That is figuring on a 26" tire.
