a ricers night before christmas

I did a search and didn't find this anywhere so forgive me if this has already been posted. Its the first time I have saw it and thought I would share




"Twas the night before Christmas and caught at the light,
Was a Supercharged Camaro and no cops in sight,
I will try, I will try, I will try with this 2 liter motor,
To beat this damn Camaro, even with it's big blower.

As light goes to green and I pull like no joke,
The Camaro erupts in clouds of tire smoke.
Now Smasher, now Rev-ver, now Stroker, now Blitzin,
These are the names of my four VTEC pistons.

Racing ahead I'm the Star of the action,
But I know I'm in trouble when that blown Camaro gets traction.
Grabbing second, I hear the RPM sing,
My rearview mirror is blocked by my Shopping Kart Wing.

I now hear the roar, of that big monster gaining.
All I can do is keep that four-banger straining.
In a second, the shockwave hits with a blast,
And my stickers go flying, now a thing of the past.

Don't bother with third, 'cause now it's too late,
Just try to act cool, like you can relate.


Looking up at the taillights as they get smaller,
The driver backs off just to give me a holler,
"You can't win them all," he says in fling,
"You may not win any in that silly thing,"


I scowled and I revved and let out a sigh,
& did my classic trademark high speed fly-by,
Then I smiled and revved as I pulled out of sight,
With my new mods tomorrow, it will be a better night."

The Green Light

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the strip
Not a motor was stirring, no 60s to rip.
A single green light shown on a small metal gate
In hopes that two rivals would not arrive late.

When out in the distance a big diesel truck
With a trailer in tow and a driver with luck
Pulls up to the track, he parks and then waits
Staring through the darkness towards the faint-lighted gate

He looks on, apprehensive, though optimistic
Then hears a faint sound, he could have easily missed it
His rival’s own truck with its trailer behind
Came through the gate, and pulled up beside

The first trailer is opened, when in shines the light
A fanged Cobra looks out, prepared to strike.
The other reveals a Camaro instead
With a rather large blower, and LSX heads.

As both beasts turn over they scream and they growl
With open headers popping and blowers that howl
They both stage together, the conditions are right
A battle is brewing on this dark winter night

As the smoke settles both monsters line up
The evil roars heard would make satan’s heart pump.
Both cars start to rev as the tree starts to blink
The mood is intense; there is no time to think.

Then suddenly both cars set their tires alight
Throwing inhuman howls into the cold dark night
Both drivers so engaged keeping their demons in line
That neither was sure of the outcome nor time

They coast down the track, both filled with hope
Their trembling hands in time with the lope
Somewhat remorsefully they silence the beasts
Then both look at the track, and the fading clocks read

9.98 ---- 10.01

So the battle is finished, their grudge match completed
And they pack up their trailers with cars most demented.
Then when they leave, and drive out of sight
All that remains is a gate, and a fading green light.
